Kbal Spean + Angkor Tour

ITINERARY

Day 1

Arrive at Siem Reap airport where you will be greeted by your tour guide and driver. You will then be transferred to your selected or our recommended hotel.

After relaxing for a while in your hotel, you will then take a guided tour of the floating village of Kompong Phluk plus a flooded forest on the Tonle Sap lake. During your tour of Kompong Phluk, you will see what life is like on a floating village and how the locals spend their working days. After visiting Kompong Phluk, you will then take a tour on a canoe through the flooded forest near Kompong Phluk. After visiting the floating village, you will be taken back to your hotel where you will have time to relax and freshen up.

Around 6:40pm, you will visit an Apsara Dance show, where you will see traditional Apsara dancers performing. The Apsara show also includes a buffet meal. Do not forget your camera for some great photos!

After the Apsara show you will be taken back to your hotel for the evening.

Day 2

Breakfast will be served at your hotel, then your day will start with a guided tour of the Angkor temples. First of all, you will take a tour around the magnificent temple of Angkor Wat, which was built in the early to mid 12th century. Suryavarman II constructed Angkor Wat into a huge temple like mountain with 5 huge towers, which can be seen from afar. It was dedicated to the Hindu God and Vishnu.

After your Angkor Wat tour, your tour will continue onto the Angkor Thom city complex, which a Buddhism temple. It was built in the late 12th to early 13th century during Jayavarman VII reign. Angkor Thom is a 3 km square walled and moated royal city and was the last capital of the Angkorian Empire.

The tour will then continue on to the beautiful temple of Ta Prohm which was built in the mid 12th and early 13th century. Ta Prohm is a large complex with passages and open plazas and it is also the temple where many people want to get the photo with the trees growing out of the walls.

After your tour of the Angkor temples, you will be taken back to your hotel.

Day 3

Breakfast will be served at your hotel and you will start the day with another guided tour of the Angkor temples. First of all, you will visit the Angkor temple of Prasat Kravan then your tour will continue on to Sras Srang before going onto the temples of Banteay Kdei, Preah Khan, Neak Pean, Ta Som, and the Pre Rup temple for sunset. Pre Rup was built in the late 10th century. Pre Rup is a temple with some nicely carved doors and from the top of the temple there is a great view of the surrounding area.

After sunset, you will be taken back to your hotel.

Day 4

Breakfast will be served at your hotel and then your tour guide will take you out to some of distant temples, including the beautiful temple of Banteay Srey which was built in the late 10th century and was dedicated to the Hindu God. Banteay Srey basically means “citadel of the women” and Banteay Srey has some of the best carvings of all the temples.

The tour will then continue on to Kbal Spean which was built between the 11th and 13th centuries. Kbal Spean is around 55km from Siem Reap and most people go there to see the 1,000 lingas, which are carved into the river bed. If time permits you can also visit the temple of Banteay Samre, which is another beautiful temple.

If you would like to visit the Land Mine Museum, then you can do so on the way to Banteay Srey.

After your tour of the temples, you will be taken back to your hotel.

Day 5

On the final day, you will be transferred to the airport for your departure. If you have a late departure time, then this could be a good time for you to relax around the hotel.

How to Book

  1. When you are ready to book, or have any further enquiries, email us at tours@siemreaprooms.com.
  2. Tell us which itinerary or Day Tours you would like to book, including any alterations you would like to make, and any extra Tour Activities you would like to add.
  3. Tell us the number of persons travelling, your preferred mode of transport, arrival/departure dates and any other information you think might be important.
  4. Tell us whether you would like to stay at the Siem Reap Rooms Holiday Villa or if you would prefer to choose your own accommodation from our list of Hotels. Alternatively, if you prefer to just book the tour, simply tell us that you do not require any accommodation.
  5. Once we have received your email, we will send you a customized itinerary and a quotation in US dollars.
  6. If you are happy to proceed, you just need to confirm by replying to our email.
  7. We will then ask you to send a deposit to reserve the tour.
  8. Finally, all you need to do is pay the balance to our tour guide on arrival, then you can just relax and leave the rest up to us!
