Guesthouses in Siem Reap start from around US$1 per night for a bed in a dorm and up to $US50 per night for a top of the range guesthouse. You can find places to stay in Siem Reap very easily and it does not really matter where you stay because Siem Reap is quite small and transport is readily available, practically on every street corner.

If you find accommodation in Siem Reap via the Internet, or you have been recommended somewhere, then you should reserve a room in advance especially during high season or festivals. If you do not, you could be disappointed when you turn up and the place is full. If you do reserve a room, you will probably receive a free pick up from the bus station, airport or boat landing as well.

Budget Guesthouses – Under US$7

The main area for cheap guesthouses and other accommodation in Siem Reap is the Taphul Village area, where you will find plenty of places to stay in this price range. Taphul Village is a pretty good location, very popular with backbackers and is also within walking distance of the Old Market and Pub Street. National Route No. 6, east and west of the river, also have numerous cheap guesthouses, as does the Old Market area, especially at the top end of Sivatha Boulevard near the river. There are also a number of budget guesthouses off Sivatha Boulevard.

There are a number of areas in Siem Reap that have mid-range guesthouses and villas with Taphul Village, the Old Market and Wat Bo Village areas being the main areas in this price range. These areas are all good locations, as they are all within walking distance of the Old Market and Pub Street. You will also find other types of accommodation in this price range like lodges, inns and bungalows.
