Siem Reap hotels and luxury accommodation in Siem Reap is plentiful so finding a hotel is pretty easy unlike a few years ago when you would struggle to find somewhere decent during high season or other busy periods. Finding a good hotel which gives you good value for money is not so easy though. Most people will book a hotel in Siem Reap based on reviews from people who have stayed in that particular place. Hotel reviews are definitely the best way to decide on how to choose the right accommodation for your visit to any destination, after all how else can you know what a particular place is like before you arrive? Most reviews however are from people who have stayed in that individual accommodation in that town or city so although that particular accommodation may have been very nice, were they getting the best value for money around town? We live in Siem Reap and reviewing hotels and luxury accommodation in town is something we really enjoy doing and we especially like finding the places that give real good value for money. There are some really nice hotels in Siem Reap, but we think that some of these places especially at the top end range do not really give true value for money compared to other hotels in town. We have reviewed a number of hotels in Siem Reap and below you can read our reviews on those places. Each accommodation is given a “value for money” rating out of 10 which is mainly based on their service, room and facilities against the room rate they charge compared with other places offering the same standard of service. As there are around 150 hotels in Siem Reap we only list the hotels who we think deserve a value for money rating of 6/10 plus otherwise our hotel listing would be endless. Budget Hotels – From under US$50The best areas of Siem Reap to find budget hotels are on the east side of the river, especially in the Wat Bo Village area and National Route No. 6, with cheap budget hotels ranging from US$15 to US$30 for an air conditioned room. The Wat Bo area is within walking distance of the Old Market and Pub Street, so it makes it a good location to stay. Around the Old Market area there are a few budget hotels, but other areas of Siem Reap generally do not have many budget hotels and either cater for different budgets or different types of accommodation.

Mid-Range and Boutique Hotels – From US$50 to US$100The main area of Siem Reap for mid-range hotels is on the road to the airport, but most of these hotels generally cater for large tour groups from around Asia. You can still find some very nice places to stay in this area, which are pretty good value for money, but the hotels are not in the greatest location. The best area for mid-range hotels is probably on the east side of the river around the Wat Bo Village area, where you will find some very nice mid-range and boutique hotels from around US$40. This is also a good location to stay, because it is within walking distance of the Old Market and Pub Street. You can also find some nice mid-range hotels around the Old Market and Sivatha Boulevard area. There are a few mid-range hotels on the road to Angkor, so if you want to be as close to the Angkor Temples as possible, then this area is the best place to stay.

Luxury Hotels – From over US$100There are quite a number of luxury hotels in Siem Reap now, with some of them being really high quality with jacuzzis, spa’s with massage and health treatments, fine restaurants, fancy bars, beautiful gardens and great swimming pools. If you are looking for a luxury hotel then you have quite a few choices, most of which are quite well located, although they are not all situated in any particular area.
